Primary Swimming Champions at AIS - Races

TX Sports Weekly Newsletter

Netball Fixture Results ISHCMC: Game 1 TX 5: ISHCMC 3 (WIN), Game 2 TX 5: ISHCMC 3 (WIN). We looked a  lot stronger playing netball this week against ISHCMC. Max and Aoi have added lots of strength to the centre court. Linh, Trang and My Hoang shot some great goals and Linh was player of the match for this movement and passing skills inside the ‘D’, to position himself better before shooting!

Nutrition Coffee Morning: Thanks to the parents who came in for the coffee morning, especially to Akiko (Japan), Jihye (Korea) and Linh (Vietnam) our newly formed parental nutrition reps. It would be great to have an Indian parent joining this committee, so if you would like to put your ideas forward on behalf of the Indian families at TX please speak to me. We start planning our new menu on Wednesday 8th May in the multi-purpose room. One of the topical issues we addressed was SALT intake and health. Jenny Low our canteen manager promises to focus on this and to try and reduce the amount of salt our children consume at school. See attached leaflet for more information.

The daily recommended maximum for children depends on their age:

  • 1 to 3 years – 2g salt a day (0.8g sodium)
  • 4 to 6 years – 3g salt a day (1.2g sodium)
  • 7 to 10 years – 5g salt a day (2g sodium)
Menu Comment Box: Please post your recipe ideas/menu plans into the box. The box and the blank copies will remain in the reception area. Many parents have ideas and opinions about the food their children eat at school, so this is the perfect opportunity to give us examples of meals you would like to see the children at TX eating! The nutrition committee will use these recipes to develop the new menu starting August 2013!
