BKK & FOBISSEA GAMES 2013

·         FOBISSEA GAMES 2013. Three days of competition consisting of four sports: Soccer, T-ball, Swimming, and Athletics. Years 4 – 6.

 

Tournament details:

Date: 7-11 May, 2013

Location: British School Manila, Philippines

Cost: 22,000,000VND (approximately) – not including kit

You can sign your child up to take part in FOBISSEA trials and view the trip information using CHQ. All sign ups must be done through CHQ and no parental signed forms will be accepted.

Note: TX children must attend all the trial dates over at the AP1 campus, with the exception of swimming. You can fit your swim trials with Mr. Chau to suit your child.

Deadline for applications: 2 January, 2013

·       Good luck to the BKK swimmers. We have an amazing squad of 14 swimmers from the TX campus traveling to BKK on Friday 7^th to join AP1’s team to form a great BIS force against some of the best swimming schools in Asia!

Tournament Rules and Information:

All games will consist of 2x7 minute halves (running time) with 30 second half time and 3 minutes for changeovers between games.

• Game will begin with a jump ball
• Half court rules will apply
• All regular basketball rules apply with an emphasis upon allowing the game to flow and most importantly being fun for the athletes taking part.  
• The tournament will be played on 2 courts – 1 indoor, 1 uncovered outdoor.
• 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie
• The tournament will be a pool play format with Championship game; top team from each pool.
• If the points are level between teams at the conclusion of the pool play, the placing will first be determined by the head to head result between the two or more level teams. If there is still a tie, point difference (points scored minus points conceded) and then if needed points scored, will determine the placing. In the event that teams are equal both head to head, on point difference and points scored, a sudden death (first team to score) match will take place.

·         Water will be available for players but please remember to bring a refillable water bottle. Fruit platters will also be available.

·         All teams should try to arrive by 12:45pm for Welcome

·         16:40 Acknowledgments

·         16:45 depart for home school

The Champions Team - Under 11 Girls Basketball Tournament

 

Annie, Marie, Trang, Jinny, Aoi, Kimberley, Sanny, Yuen Yin, My Hoang, Vy, Hyun Ah.

TX were the smartest basketball players of all the 10 schools which took part in the HCMC Basketball Championships on Wed 15th Nov, playing 5 skillful games at pace  to get through to a tense final against RISS.  We stayed calm under the pressure, showing great defensive skills and refusing to concede any easy baskets. Aoi, team captain and highest tournament scorer's focus and determination took us into the lead in the last minute of extra time with 2 amazing shots, securing yet another 1st place victory for the TX campus. Well done to the 11 strong squad!
